This 3 Day gorilla trekking safari is a budget planned trip, short and adventurous in the best way possible. You will be able to trek one of the 12 habituated mountain gorilla groups and still have a chance to spot other primates like the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons and the black-and-white colobus monkey. Gorilla trekking takes approximately 2 to 8 hours a perfect opportunity for those who love hiking.

DAY ONE: TRAVEL FROM KAMPALA TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked by a professional and an English speaking guide/driver from the airport or from your hotel whether in Entebbe or Kampala after you’ve had your breakfast as early as 7a.m. You will be briefed about the 3 Day gorilla trekking safari by your guide and then the journey to Bwindi starts off. On your way, you can have a stopover at the Equator for a brief photo taking session if you choose to then proceed to Mbarara town when you can have a sumptuous lunch at a hotel of your preference that matches your budget of course.

Proceed to your accommodation late in the afternoon where you will check-in, dine and rest preparing for an adventurous day the following day.

DAY TWO: GORILLA TREKKING

After an early breakfast, your guide will drive you the park’s headquarters where you will be briefed by the park rangers about what to and what not to while in the park. At this point you will be divided into groups of 8 and the trekking starts for a couple of hour depending on location of the primates. Watch out for other animals like elephants, buffaloes and bush bucks in your adventure.

This activity involves climbing and hiking although when you come to face with the Mountain Gorillas you will not regret the experience. Observing from a few meters away, you will see them busy with their day to day activities as they are used to humans. Only one hour is allowed for observation so use your time sparingly by taking photos and all that but do not forget to put your camera flash off as this primates are not used to too much light.

Head back to your accommodation and relax or if you still have the energy, you can visit the local communities and get exposed to their cultures, food and way of life.

DAY THREE: DEPARTURE BACK TO KAMPALA

After breakfast, check-out of your hotel room and drive back to Kampala, on the way, stopover in Mbarara and have lunch then continue with the drive to the city. You guide will drop you either at the hotel or at the airport. This will mark the end of your 3 Day gorilla trekking safari
